I have been playing bass for over 40 years, and I am as happy with this as I am with any other bass I own. It has a great, fat sound down low, with a really nice, clear tone. Up high is nice and crisp. The respose is great whether you're picking, fingering or slapping. The neck is EXTREMELY highly sanded, so your hand slides like butter. Lightweight, but solid enough to let you know it isn't a toy. Instead of going in to sickening detail, I'll just say this: There is absolutely nothing that I don't love about this bass. I'll stack it next to my Rick and my B.C.
