It has a tendency to buzz a little playing the E string but I think that is because of the scale and that trying to raise the string would make it difficult to play but I haven't done it so that is just a guess. I would say that this is a 1/4 scale bass based on the neck length of my other 3 bass guitars but again that is an estimate or my best guess. I liked it so well I got a second one. On the first one the pickup cover came unglued from the coil. But that wasn't too hard to fix. At the price it's well worth the money. It has an adjustable truss rod, metal knobs for the volume and pitch adjustments. The material and workmanship that when into the guitar are good. Like any inexpensive guitar with an adjustable bridge the intonation could use a set up. For just a little bit of effort in finish work or rejecting and reworking it could be really good as a traveler or just ultra-short scaled <30.5 inches. I haven't seen many 25.5 inch Scaled Basses around. Additionally, not at this price. If you want to put the extra work into it, ----it could be worth it with this unit.
